The records I have show Elizabeth Washington married William Gilpin, b. abt 1508, son of Edwin Gilpin & Margaret Layton of Delemaine. According to the Kendal Parish register William was buried Jan. 23, 1576/77. William was the last owner of Kentmere Hall, Westmoreland. William and Elizabeth had 12 children.
Elizabeth Washington was one of the daughters and co-heirs of Thomas Washington of Hall Head, Westmoreland. Thomas was the gr. grandson of Robert Washington, Lord of Milburne, Westmoreland and ancestor of President George Washington.
My records show William & Elizabeth had a child named Martin, b. abt 1535 who married Catherine Newby.
