I see you come from the Joseph and Hannah (Glover) line. I just tied into this by a sideline not my direct line. My ggAunt married J.M. Gilpin and I've been doing some research on them. I came across a old book on family of Ellis Co Tx and J.M.Gilpin line was in there. The way it reads you can get kinda mixed up.
/It said Joseph and Hannah had 6 sons, Vincent, Gideon,Isreal,Joseph,Thomas and George. George had 1 son Isaac. his 2 sons wre George Fox and John.(then it reads) J.M.Gilpin maternal great grandfather was a sea captain. Name of Giles and in the war of the Rev. he ranked with Captain Paul Jones. He made a forturne capturing English merchantmen, and much booty. He had only one daughter, and she was first married to a man who was drowned the day after her wedding: she was then married to Captain Gilpin. (next statement reads) Joseph S Gilpin and wife were the parents of nine children, 6 of whom are living; Mary E, wife of Judge George Heard; J.M.the subject of this sketch; Josie V wife of A B Powell; Margaret P wife of Mr. Davis Charles M., Annie, deceased and Joseph F., 2 died in infancy.
Now I know Annie married J.w. Colvin an was born 9-12-1864 d. Jan 19 1890 in Ellis Co Tx.
J.M. Gilpin was born in Mason Co Ky Maysville
Nov 9 1836 and died Feb 4 1910 in Ellis Co.
CAN YOU FILL IN THE BLANKS between Joseph and Hannah to Joseph S Gilpin and wife? Do you know Joseph S wifes' name?
Would you like J.M. Gilpin children names and family?
Nadine
