I also have a 2nd wife for William P. Gilpin.
Maude Alma Morris b.? (prob abt 1869) daughter of George Morris and Isabella. This is all I have on her.

William Buehler Gilpin b.10-4-1898, died June 1967 in Alexandria, VA. It appears his mother, Nannie Haddock Buehler died a month after he was born. A Ms. Cummings could have been an aunt or even a grandparent that remarried. If you have any more info about the Ms. Cummings it would be helpful in determining who she might be. I have several Cummins/Cummings in my database associated with Jackson lines.

Jane H. Partridge b. aft 1803 d. 3-6-1894 Cecil Co., MD. was the daug of James Partridge and Hannah Hollingsworth. Jane Partridge's great aunt, Mary Polly Husbands Hollingsworth b. 4-26-1772 was married to John Gilpin b. 9-17-1765. It appears she may never have married. She metioned several members of this family in her will. Her will is dated May 22, 1893 Cecil Co., MD.

John Gilpin and Mary Polly Hollingsworth are the parents of Henry Hollingsworth Gilpin b.3-23-1804 Elkton, Cecil Co., MD, d.4-7-1857 Elkton, Cecil Co., MD married Margaret Whann Ricketts b.3-17-1812 d.8-7-1881.

Their son, William Ricketts Gilpin b.11-11-1834 MD married Anna Eliza Engle b.11-6-1839 d.10-8-1889 Cecil Co., MD.

I kinda suspect that the Ms. Cummings may be a sister of Anna Eliza Engle. I have the parents of Anna Eliza Engle as Aaron C. Engle and Eliza. That is all I have on them so far.

Children of William Ricketts Gilpin and Anna Eliza Engle:

Malcom R. Gilpin
Howard Gilpin
Helen Augustus Gilpin
William Partridge Gilpin
Frederick Stump Gilpin
Evla Gilpin married George W. Denny

My husband and I lived in Cecil Co., MD in 1984, in a town called Northeast. There was a Quaker church next door to the grade school our children attended. We became involved in Gilpin research while living here because of all the Gilpin history in the area. The Gilpins were instrumental in the development of Wilmington, DE.

We have been researching my husband's missing John Gilpin b.NC approx 1832 since 1984 in an attempt to determine if he is from the line in this area. In over 20 years of research we now have an extensive database.
