I have several Hawkins lines that married into Gilpins and other surnames I am researching. Any additional info you may have on any of these would be appreciated.
Mary Polly Hawkins b. 1716 King William Co., Va. married Taliaferro "Tolliver" Craig b. abt 1715 VA d. 1795 Woodford Co.,Ky. Their son, John Craig b. 1730 VA d. 1815 Boone Co., Ky had a son, Phillip Hawkins Craig b.1779 Va d.1831 Lawrenceburg, Indiana married Polly Percival b.abt 1780 (I am researching Percivals)
Nancy A.M. Hawkins b.1846, dau of Nathan Byrd Hawkins b.1816 Preble Co., Ohio and Rebecca Shank b.1816 married Levi Lambkin Gilpin b.8-13-1844 Perry Twp., Tuscarawas Co. Ohio in Jay Co., Indiana 9-12-1869. Levi Lambkin Gilpin is the son of Samuel Stapler (Stampler) Gilpin b.1820.
Ruth Hawkins b.10-24-1649 Windsor, Hartford, CT d.10-9-1724 Windsor, Hartford, CT., daug of Anthony Hawkins and Isabel Brown had a son, Thomas Hart b.4-4-1680 who married Elizabeth Gilpin.
Allen Hawkins b. abt 1800 and Matilda Elgin married 9-27-1822 in Bourbon Co.,Ky have several Gilpin lines associated with them.
Amanda Hawkins b. abt 1820 married Elihu Puckett. A Samuel Puckett married Elizabeth Gilpin b.1814 in Surry Co., NC 1837. No connection yet established with these lines.
David Columbus Hawkins b. abt 1890 and Dora Paralee Raper had a daugh who married Howard W. Gilpin b. abt 1912 d. abt 1963 Bluefield, WVA. He is the son of John Lesley Gilpin b. 1890 and Leola Wilson.
Edna Hawkins, b. abt 1870, daug of John Henry Hawkins b. 1841 Bedford Co., Va. d. 1926 Ark and Mary Jane Hurt b.1842 Bedford Co., Va. married James Jackson. I am researching Jackson, Gilpin lines. There are also Hurt and Gilpin lines.
John N. Hawkins b. abt 1830 married Isabell Ann Wills b.1830 Mo, daug of Durrett Wills b.1792 and Mary Polly West b.1795. I am researching Wills and Gilpin lines.
Katherine Edna Hawkins b.1858 Ky maried Calvin Nicholas Rouse b.1857. I am researching a Rouse in this family line associated with my Gilpin line.
Mary Hawkins b. abt 1783, daug of William Hawkins and Francis Erwin married Alexander Clark has Gilpin lines associated with it.
Mary Hawkins b. 6-15-1819 Goshen, Orange Co.,NY, daug of Silas Horton Hawkins (son of David Hawkins and Mary Horton) b.1796 NY and Mary Harlow married William Harrison Slaughter b.1815, had a daug, Mary Elizabeth Slaughter b.1-11-1849 who married Alfred Gailpin 1869 in Jefferson Co., Ohio.
Virginia B. Hawkins b.6-28-1836 married Edmond Womack (son of Daniel Edmund Womack b.abt 1775 Bedford Co, Va and Nancy Pearcey b.1781 Bedford Co., Va. b.1816, daugh Ella Womack b.1860 married Samuel D. Gilpin 1881. in Hayes Co., TX. There are other Gilpin lines associated with these Womacks.
Hope this is helpful. By compiling the various family lines known to have married Gilpins or that are known to be in Gilpin lines we all may be able to eventually find the Gilpin ancestors we are looking for.
