FRANTZ/GILPIN/SLIGER Allegheny Co. MD 1850-1875 era
We are researching the descendants of Thomas Jefferson Sliger (b. July 1846 in Maryland, d. October 14, 1902 in Huntington WV.) On September the 5th 1872 he married Sarah Agnes FRANTZ (b. October 26 in Cumberland MD, 1851 d. October 27, 1919 in Huntington WV.) They had 11 children, all but the last two were born in MD.
At one time we had Margaret GILPIN listed as Thomas Jefferson Sliger’s wife, however, further research revealed that was an error. Since then we are leaning toward Margaret GILPIN being Thomas Jefferson Sliger’s Mother. A couple of years ago while researching Sliger’s in Maryland, we found reference to the marriage of Margaret GILPIN to George Sliger 10/25/1845. Originally we had gotten Margaret GILPIN’s name off some documents in the Cabell County, WV Courthouse in Huntington so we are confident that she is related to Thomas Jefferson Sliger. Again, we believe that Margaret and George are possibly Thomas Jefferson Sliger’s parents.
Any assistance with these branches (Frantz-Gilpin-Sliger) of the family tree would be appreciated.
