My grandfather, Lawrence Alvis Gilpin was raised in Adair county Kentucky. He married LouElla (Ella) Wheeler. He was born about 1900. They had 5 sons and two daughters. The sons were Otley, Alvis, Lewis Hurt, Allen, and Hollis - The sisters are Lucy Breeding and Joanna Rodgers. The sisters are still living. My Dad was Lewis Hurt Gilpin. I'm not sure who my greatgrandfather was - I'd have to do some digging. Hope this helps.
