Hi Janet,
Do you know if Stephen Gilmore who married Amy Matthews was related to Jane Heard and John Gilmore of Cumberland Co., NC? I saw an old message where you had responded to someone regarding this Stephen.
A few months ago I found a distant cousin to do the Gilmore DNA test, and we have the results back now. A gentleman who is a descendant of Stephen Gilmore of Cumberland Co., NC, born about 1735 and died 1816, has participated in the DNA testing. He and my cousin were not really close matches. If his Stephen was related to Jane Heard and John Gilmore, then I will know definitely that my Joseph Gilmore of Albemarle Co., VA was not related to them. I tried writing to the person who submitted the DNA, but his address wasn't good and the message was returned.
I have seen that Jane and John Gilmore had a son named Stephen, but the dates aren't the same. If you have any information on these folks, please let me know.
