The earliest record I have of the JOhn Gilmore you mentioned is in 1745 Albemarle Co, VA--a land record that mentions John Gilmore & wife Jane. My next project is to do some serious research of land records in that county, but I don't see that happening for a couple of years yet. Sorry I can't be of more help. I first thought he might be related to the Gilmores in Augusta/Rockbridge Co., VA but this now seems unlikely. Janet Notify Administrator about this message?
