With all due respect, the letter you were so happy to have had posted is an example of poor research being generously shared.Hopefully, since then, as a person involved with family history and in a position of trust, you have learned that much of the early research re James and Martha Dennison Gilmore was faulty and not based on solid historical source material.Even when the researchers identified their conclusions as guesswork, their material was later quoted as "factual".The book re the Gillmore-Carter families is a perfect example.I point this out in hopes those new to family research will not be misled by those of us who should know better than to accept anything as fact unless it has been verified by acceptable source material, which does not include sloppy research no matter how long ago it was done.
