Thank you Charlene for that information. I have since found out that Pat gilmartin drowned sometime in the 1870's. He owned a shop and licensed premises and he was known locally as 'Pat Hudy'. Mary McTernan remarried a Pat McGovern who managed the business. He was granted a license in 1876. They had two children who never married and their home was known as 'Charlies Pats'.

Guess I will have to now put a message on the McGovern forum.
