Dayton Gillock Justice writer of book about Gillock's

Back in the 1960's I was a newlywed who had moved to Pa from TX when my mom called and told me she had put some money down on a book about the Gillock family that a cousin of my dad's was writing. Dad thought he was a shyster and wanted nothing to do with it. We sent the man information about our family, and he would write now and then--telling of his travels to the homes of the older family members (all over the country). He was gathering information and visiting courthouses. Dad was still suspicious and didn't want us to give him anymore money. But we were very interested and believed in him. Wow! Are we glad we contributed as I now own a wonderful book of over 800 pages with many, many pictures in it. It is called the "Jones-Gillock and Allied Families." It has our Bodine family in it, too. I think it cost about $50 or so and took him 20 or more years to compile. Our ancestor, John Newton Bodine, married Harriett Evelyn Gillock Dec. 28, 1878, in Missouri or Wise Co., TX. They moved from there to I.T., later Oklahoma.
