Hi Michael,
Sorry this has taken a while to reach you, but I have just found this site with your question. By now I expect you have managed to trackdown more of your family and if you have traced the Gillis's back to Ireland, I am researching the same family. My friends are from Ireland (Bestbrook/ Mhullerglass Antrim.) and are direct descendents of the Gillis/ Best's/ Robinson/ Hamiltons.
