I found the death certificate for your Duncan and also a record of his second marriage to Annie Currie as below

Marriage record 1901 Pictou County Book 1832, page 209 #141
At Thorborn, August 22, 1901
Duncan H Gillis age 47, widower, miner, residing Stellerton, born Judique
       Son of Hugh and Mary
To Annie Currie age 40, widow, residing Thorborn, born Broad Cove,
       Dau of Donald and Mary

Death Certificate – Reg Year 1937, Book 168, Page 789 Stellerton, Pictou Co
Duncan H Gillis died Bridge St., Stellerton October 10, 1937
Born Mar 10, 1852 in Judique, Cape Breton, name of parents unknown
Married to Annie Gillis
Died of acute Bronchitis
Informant Josephine McKinnon, daughter
