I am looking for any information on the parents, brothers etc. for James B Gillis. He was born in Philadelphia, PA about 1824/25 married to a Mary or Maria Ellen and had the following children -
Emily Gillis - b. abt. 1847
Cornelia Gillis - b. abt. 1850
Charles F Gillis - b. abt. 1857
William Gillis - b. abt. 1860
Theodore Gillis - b. abt. 1861
Anna Gillis - b. abt. 1865
Frank Gillis - b. abt. 1870
James Gillis - b. abt. 1872
He lists in the 1880 Census that both of his parents were born in Holland. Although my grandfather who was a direct decendant from Charles F always stated he was Pennsylvania Dutch cause he stated he would not say he was German. If anyone has any information please email me.
