Ronald, I rechecked my dates and Melton was born 1823 per the 1850 census. I cannot find my copy to check how old John is in there. I will find it and let you know. I am beginning to wonder if Melton might be a brother to Malcolm. After seeing all of the birth dates of the other children he does not fit in there. That John he was living next door to may be his father, also father of Malcolm. What do you think?
