Wow!YOu are my first cousin once-removed (I think).Audrey was my grandmother.I have Ida Luella's death certificate.Sorry it's not in front of me so I can't give the exact date at the moment. But I know that it said she was buried at Calvary Cemetery in Verona.I never could find that darn cemetery and now I know why!It is actually Sacred Heart. Here's a mystery maybe you can help me with.My grandmother was Catholic, but I couldn't figure out how far back that went since it appeared the Gillinghams were Quaker and I didn't know what the Jones were. Were the Jones Catholic?Family history relates that after Ida died Audrey's father shipped her off to a Catholic boarding school in St Louis and re-married a woman named Birdie(?).Actually I think he married first then shipped her off.Audrey apparently did not get along with the step-mother.I know so little about the family because Audrey almost NEVER spoke of her past, just got dribs and drabs over the years.
Supposedly she either ran away from the school or graduated and followed her brother Leo to Kingsport TN (to work?).That's where she met my grandfather. They were married there in 1931.
I would love to hear more about Paul and Leo and any info you have.
