Larry, I am trying to learn about the Gilliland family as I descend from Robert [I] who was one of three brothers to migrate from Scotland. Brothers were William and James.
Although, I cannot identify Margaret specifically some of the names in your inquiry seem familiar. I am also related to the Jones families presently living in Jackson Co., but Elijah is not familiar. (I was raised in Stevenson, AL, but presently live there.)This is a brief of the John Jones of Jackson Co., Ala.: John settled initially in Bastrop Co., TX, but later moved to Travis Co. where he acquired a farm along Onion Creek. John married Mary Jane McCutcheon in Travis Co., Jan. 14, 1857. Mary, the daughter of William M. and Elizabeth Harrell McCutcheon, was born Jun. 17, 1838, and died 1865, in Weberville, TX. Issue (two): Mary Alice and Anna Elizabeth.
