Hi Alice,

I'm researching the HARDIN/GILLIHAN line for my brother-in-law. I'm confused, is Nancy WALKER the same person as Nancy Ann HARDIN?

I have been reading the Revolutionary War Pension Papers for Nancy Ann GILLIHAN. These papers show that she was the wife of Clemans GILLIHAN, sometimes referred to as William GILLIHAN. She testified that she was married 8/26/1790, Harbin or Hardin Creek, Washington (Nelson) Co., KY (the home of Thomas HARBIN poss HARDIN). Mark HARDIN verified that date in a deposition on 5/27/1841, also Clamans GALAHAN/GILLIHAN, Jr.

The papers show her 77 yrs of age in 1839 (Series: M805 Roll: 358 Image: 352 File: W8850/BLWT1027-100 Widow's Pension Application). This would be a birthdate of approximately 1762.

The Revolutionary Pension info shows; Clemans (sometimes referred to as William) GILLIAN --
1777 Clements GILLIHAN private in Capt. David STEELE's Co.
served until the end of the war at that time under Capt. Benjamin BRIGG's Co. under Col. John GIBSON 7th VA Regt
(Series: M805 Roll: 358 Image: 352 File: W8850/BLWT1027-100)

6/1800 Names of James TADLOCK, Elisha TADLOCK, Lewis TADLOCK and William GILLIHAN appear on handwitten document (difficult to read)

9/1817 William GILLIHAN of Smith Co., TN 70 yrs of age

9/27/1819 Smith Co., TN shows William GILLIHAN receiving $8./month starting this date; for 3 yrs service under Col. HUGER, SC

1/1822 Washington Co., KY Clement GILLIHAN letter of deposition Capt. Biggs 7th Regt VA 2 yrs

Fought in the Battle of Savannah.

Am I confusing GILLIHANS? My brother-in-law's line should be William GILLIHAN>Clements GILLIHAN>Alan H. GILLIHAN>Alexander GILLIHAN>Raymon L. GILLIHAN

Any information would be appreciated,
Linda Cashen Gaunt
