Two boys orphaned in England sent to Canada

RONALD R GILLIES born 1935 and SYDNEY GILLIES born 1936 in Stockton-on-tees, Durham, England were orphaned at a young age and it is believed they were sent to Canada, possibly by a orphanage or church organisation. Does anyone know anything at all about what happened to these boys? Can anyone tell me where to start to look?
Any help would be appreciated.
