A biography & family history of Archibald P. Gillies is included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Father: Neil Gillies, b. 1819, Scotland, imm. to America and died in Canada in 1891. On 13 Sep 1901, Great Falls, MT, Archibald married Miss Laura E. Smith, of Helena, MT, the daughter of William and Catherine (Williams) Smith, natives respectively of Tennessee and Holyhead, Wales.
