Andrew Gillies - agr. labourer (50 years) & his wife Ann (43) were from Inverness Scotland. In 1852 they came to S.A. on board the ship Medina with their children Christian (13), Ewan (10) & John (7). The Medina left Liverpool June 26 arriving here October 9th. On February 6th the same year - another Gillies family arrived aboard the barque Caucasian. They were also from Inverness. They were Donald - farm servant (15), Angus - agr. labourer (25), Catherine (22), Mary (18), Ann (27) & Ann (25) - the girls were domestic servants. I feel almost certain that they were the one family & perhaps Ann (27) may have been the wife of Angus. I am doubly related to this family as John & Catherine both married into our family. Andrew & family lived around O'Halloran Hill S.A. but I have been unable to establish if it was just the one family. I have information on only Catherine, Mary & John. I hope someone can help me.
