I am seeking information on ancestors of Edward Allen Gillies of New York. He m. Clarissa Luantha De Graff , had 6 children.

Edward Allen is son of John S.E. Gillies (b. Scotland) m. Agness Maxwell (b.1821) (her 2nd marriage). I believe there were 3 children (Ellen, Jane or Jeanie, Edward). After Agness death, John Married Martha Bower (there seem to have been 4 more children).

I believe John S.E. Gillies was the son of Sara(h) Haig. I believe he fought in US Civil War.
