Gillibrand - Bolton & Chorley, Lancs

I am looking for information on the Gillibrand family.

My gt. grandfather was John Gillibrand, b. 13 July 1859 in Chorley. His parents were Thomas Gillibrand and Elizabeth (nee Swift). Thomas was born about 1829 and he married Elizabeth in Chorley in April 1850, at which time he was an under carder. There were, I believe, the following children born to Thomas and Elizabeth: Thomas (1854), Robert (1856), John (1859) & Elizabeth Anne (1861)- all born in Chorley.

Thomas's father was another John, who was a drafter at the time of Thomas's marriage in 1859.

John Gillibrand (junior b. 1859) married my gt. grandmother, Mary Jane Hulton in Bolton in October 1880. This branch stayed in Bolton in the latter half of the 19th century. He died in 1933.

If anyone can help to trace further back the Chorley connection I would be very pleased to hear from you. Also, does anyone know whether this Gillibrand family has any connection to Gillibrand Hall?
