Barry, I have been looking at the Greens, Reddings, Martins, and Jacksons—people who appear to be connected in one way or another with William Gilliam of Halifax. The Will of James Jackson dated 1761 mentions a Lucy Gilliam who was left money in the hands of Turner Jackson. Turner Jackson (an easy name to trace) was an overseer in Charles City County. He and James Jackson are mentioned in the Marable Papers. Also in Charles City were the Gilliams, the Munfords and the Greens. Among the early Gilliams were William, Richard and Jeffrey. The same Gilliams are mentioned in the same Marable Papers. I wonder if William could have roots in Charles City. Some of the Charles City Gilliams were also connected to the New Kent ones, as the counties were adjacent. If so, there could be something to the Susannah Green.
