I am working on collateral lines of Gilliam descendants of Howell Gilliam of Alabama. Howell had a son Wm. D. Gilliam who died in the Civil War.

Wm. mar. Mary Amarilla Brock. Wm. and she had the following children:

1. Mary Jane Gilliam, b. abt 1854, Fayette co., AL, mar. an Unknown Riddell?, Choctaw co., MS

2. James Howell Gilliam, b. 1855; d. 1858, Fayette Co., AL

3. John Thomas Gilliam, b. 5 Apr 1858, Fayette Co., AL, d. 12, Aug. 1935 Choctaw Co., MS. mar. 1st to Lorena Catherine McCafferty abt 1878; mar. 2nd to Della Margaret Starnes, 7 Aug. 1890, Choctaw Co., MS

4. Frances Emaline Gilliam, b. Sept 1863, Fayette co., AL, d. aft 1930, mar. bet 1880-1881 to Thomas M. (Milton?) Wiggins.

T.M. Wiggins b. May 1862, d. aft 1930.

Children:

1. Iler Wiggins, Dec. 1884, b. MS
2. William Wiggins, b. Jan. 1887, b. MS
3. Ada Wiggins, b. Feb. 1889, MS
4. James Wiggins, b. 12 May 1891, MS
5. John Wiggins, b. Apr 1893 (per 1900 census)
6. Dewey Ciscro Wiggins, b. 22 Feb. 1898 (per WWI Draft Reg.)

Who did the women marry? Did Ada marry Walter Campbell in Montgomery Co., MS?

James Wiggins listed as Jim D. Wiggins on the SSI Draft Reg. Card. In 1930 in Bolivar Co., MS, as a barber, married to "George?", child Francis, age 16.

Dewey C. Wiggins listed as single in 1930, living in Sunflower Co., MS, boarding. On WWI Draft Reg. Card listed his father T.M. Wiggins of Eupora, Webster Co., MS as nearest relative.

In 1900 in Choctaw Co., MS, in the household of Thomas M. Wiggins and Fannie E. Wiggins, there was a Sarah Gilliam, mother-in-law, age 65, widow, mother of 4 children, 3 living, b. AL, parents b. NC.

Was Sarah the same as Mary A. (Brock) Gilliam. The age and children support this theory. If only using census data to track these family groups, confusion abounds because the birthplaces change each decade.

I would like info on any of the above individuals. Thank you.
