I am really confused!I know that my ancestor was the Hinchea Gilliam who died in Sussex County, VA in 1794.I know that he had a brother, John, who left a will in 1777.My Hinchea was heir-at-law for John's military warrant #4256.Here is the problem.John mentions his loving brother, Hinchea, in his will, but he also mentions his loving brother, William. In fact, he leaves William his "land and plantation whereon I now live in Sussex County which was provided to me by my father."I have looked through all the wills I can find, and I cannot find one which mentions sons John, Hinchea, and William, at least not in the proper time period.Since Hinchea (d. 1794) had his first child in February, 1746 (Albermarle Parish Records), he would have to have been born before 1730.What am I missing?Would appreciate suggestions.
