I just read your posting and think you might be able to give me some direction. I am trying to connect John McDow who was in Georgia as early as 1813 with his parents. Through my research, it seems that there were McDow's in NORTH Carolina and SOUTH Carolina. Most researchers trace back to SOUTH Carolina to John McDow and Catherine Caryl. I have not been able to do that.

I have come across the name Arthur McDow (which you mentioned in your posting) in NORTH Carolina. The sentences of interest to me were, "Agnes Gilliam/Gillham m Judge John Guy Lofton.John Guy Lofton is brother to Margaret "Peggy" Lofton who married Arthur McDow. I'll have to review my records to see if I have a connection between Arthur, Susannah, and Jane."

DID YOU FIND A CONNECTION between Arthur and these South Carolina women? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
