I'm no expert on this, but I do know there are different trains of thought on where the name Gillette came from. One is that it was a French Huguenot name and the other is that it is a very old English name. The records showing the Esberg line are very old in a small parish-type community and goes back for generations - from the Mary & John people. I'm sure other people on this site know more about this than I do.
