I am looking for any information regarding the predecessors of Mary Ellen Gillette, who married Clarence Maurice Moorhouse in Illinois in the mid-1930s. They had two sons, James and John. Mary Ellen's great-grandfather was the first white-fathered baby born into an Indian tribe, presumably in or around Illinois. This is a bit vague, but please let me know if this rings a bell.
