Looking for roots, Ohio and beyond

I am Joe Gillette, a Copley Newspapers columnist and editor currently living in the greater Chicago area of Illinois. My full name is Paul Joseph, legal documents list me as Paul J., and my birth cirtificate from Galion, Crawford County, Ohio lists me as P. Joseph. I am the son of the late Paul Barkely Gillette, born July 27, 1910 in Marion, Ohio, and Leona Mae Hill, born November 22, 1914, in Blooming Grove, Ohio. My father is the son of James Morton Gillett (note the lack of a final 'e'). I do not know the parents, place or date of brith for James Morton Gillett, nor do I know his death date in Galion Ohio. I do know that he was known popularly in the community and the family as "Harry" and that he died (of a "weak heart" or tuberculosis) 222when my dad was 6 months old (that would be 1911) and was perhaps 23 years old. My dad lost track of the family whem my grandmother, the former Nelle Pugh, remarried when dad was 7. He recalled an Aunt Libby but was unsure where in Ohio she was. He also recalled an Uncle Elvis whom he believed spent most of his adult life institutionalized at the State Mental Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. If anyone could help me connect with my branch of Gillettes, I'd be grateful.
