I just sent this on to an old messsage, but I would like it to appear in the front too....would love to share info on MAry Gilleete Ives and on her dad Smauel Gillette and the BAttle of Turner Falls. we went up there and the site is under water. None of the young history folks semed to know much about it! The HAtfield Attacks has it's own website...a few I think..I want to find the episodes in some old history books, written very early...

I too am descended from MAry Gillette Ives. I assume you have the whole story of the HAtfield raids, when MAry and her brother and mom, HAnnah Dickinson Gillette, werer taken off to Canada? Samuel Gillette, her husband had been killed at Turner FAlls.....Hannah remarried a Jennings and then was abducted. I wonder if MAry Gillette Ives wrote about her experiences and I wonder if they are printed? My Ives goes on down through Wallingford and Meriden.....
