Hello,

I am descended from Edward The Great's Brother (my Granfather is a Gillett).

His father was Edward Gillett who married Sarah Brown on 18 JAN 1814  Saint George The Martyr, Southwark.

I strongly suspect he was born in Kingston Surrey about 1795 (if I am right he was christened 13 DEC 1795 Kingston Upon Thames Surrey). He was probably a brother of Thomas Gillett born in Kingston Surrey about 1794 (christened 15 JUN 1794 Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey). This is because the christening dates match the dates of the Thomas and Edward Gillett in Greenwich. If this is right then Thomas and Edward's parents were most likely John Jillett born about 1761(christened 04 FEB 1763 Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey) and Martha. John Jillett's parents were probably Robert Gillett and Margaret.

John Jillett's brother Robert born 1760 was transported to Australia in 1797 on the Hillsborough married in Tasmania and had many children - covered in detail on the Internet.

Although the older stuff is conjecture, it all fits very well. Unfortunately I have just got this far and have not been able to spend time confirming it yet.

I have more brothers and sisters and descendants if you are interested.
