Looking for any information on the family of Connell Gillespie, my great grandfather. Connell was born in Donegal, Ireland in 1840. His mothers' name, I believe was Ann or Annie, born in Donegal, Ireland around 1818. Connell had a sister Mary (1838) and at least two brothers, Daniel and Maurice. The family came to the US from Donegal, Ireland around 1856. I believe Daniel and Maurice may have been born in the US, possibly New York. The family lived in Terra Haute, Indiana and Springfield, MO. Connell married Mary Ann McNelly in Texas. Daniel and Connell were linen salesmen traveling to New York and bringing the linens back to Texas. Daniel was murdered in New York. In later years Connell was a saloon keeper. Connell died in Texas. I believe Maurice became a minister. I appreciate any further information on the family.
