Robert Wright & Keziah Gillenwaters..was she??
I'm still looking for my James Gillenwater Wright. Some new information has been researched and I want to pass it along and see if anyone has any ideas.
While searching the book "The Wills of Amherst County, Virginia, 1761-1865", I came across the following:
Benj. Cawflin...will probated October 16,1797..lists a daughter Keziah Cawflin, brother Major Jas. Benj. Cawflin..and wife, Eliz. There is more detail, but just want to bring up the wife and children (page 84).
On page 73, same book, there is a Eliz Coflin (Cawflin), will probated November 20, 1815.It names a son, M.J.B. cofflin, Major, and a daughter Keziah WRIGHT (she got a 1.00 and a large iron pot).
Now, while searching the book "The Deeds of Amherst County, Virginia, 1807-1827, Books L-R", I came across the following:
17 June 1815.Robert Wright and wife Keziah, late Gillenwaters and James Gillenwaters, Campbell County, To Elisha Gillenwaters, deceased, in Amherst County...$1.00 our interest in estate of our brother, Thomas Gillenwaters, deceased, in Amherst County Tract.
I know that a Robert Wright married a Keziah Gillenwaters in 1808, and that she was old enough to sign consent for the marriage.
My question is, is this Keziah Cawflin, Gillenwaters, Wright, the same Keziah?I know that there is mention of a Robert Wright who married a Keziah Gillenwaters who's father was suppose to be John Gillenwaters. What I'm looking for is the source of the lineage..How was it sourced that John Gillenwaters had a daughter named Keziah Gillenwaters?
Anyone who has the source, please email me and let me know where it's located. Thanks!
