Gill or Gell, originally Isle of Man
Five children of Thomas Gell (1763-1840?)and Jane Sayle immegrated to US:Thomas (d.1870), William, James, Edward, and Evan. Thomas killed by Indians in Utah. William married "a New York lady" and changed name to Gill, brothers followed. All five had children: a mining engineer, US Coast Guard, Naval Architect. Names mentioned include: James Gill, Edward Ceasar Gill, Edward Gill, Louise Neville-Rolfe, Major J.H.W. Gill, Francis Derek Gill, Capt. Wm. Evan Gill. Looking for any further information to add to existing family tree that dates back to 1515 on the Isle of Man.
