I'm looking for information on Sargent Samuel Gill from Salisbury, Mass. His son, an Abenaki captive, came to Canada (Odanak Reservation) in 1697 at age 9 (Sammie Gill) and married Rosalie James, another Abenaki captive. Samuel James is my direct ancestor (on my mother's side) and I would like to get to know the American branch of the family before young Samuel was brought here.

My family is issued from his son, François, who married Anne Labonté-Couturier in St-François (Odanak) on July 18, 1768. If you have any information, it would be greatly appreciated.
