Anyone researching the John McCandles Gilkison family? The 1860 census shows John, a painter, age 41 was born in OH. His parents were John Creyton Gilkison and Sarah Coffenberry, born VA or PA. His wife was Lucy Juliette Slayton. John and Lucy had children Rose, Lory, Silby, Adelyn, and Edith. I am trying to find the family that Rose married into, the John Johnston family, Richland, OH then to Ionia and Kalamazoo MI area. Anyone connected to this family who might have info on John Johnston, Rose and their children?
