Well, we are pretty clearly irish protestants, that means 500 years ago, we were probably scots. It does seem we came via what is now northern ireland. My ansester (Walter Gilkey) came via donegal in early 18th century. (donegal is in the irish republic now but is very near northern ireland). I have seen but can't confirm that our scottish ansesters came from the border area between scotland and england. Anyone reading this have different info?

Point #2, I live in the same county you do (Hills.) so email me at testr2@earthlink.net
