Hi Richard,i'm ok now hope you are too.No i don't think
matthew and Alice were ever rich(i wish)as i said before
my dad always said how poor they were and had to share boots etc.I know when they got married in 1893 Matthew was
a drummer 10th foot and stationed at North Camp Aldershot,
and in the1901 census he was a lance corporal which i think
is only 1 step up from a private,i'm not very good at army
stuff you probably know more about that than me.My dad never mentioned living in the tower,but they obviously did
how fascinating is that!I live in Bournemouth now so i'm
not able to check how they came to be living there,it would
be great to know.I've only just started putting my family
tree on Ancestry as i'm tracing my mother's as well,of course you can look any time.You can email me direct if you want at regards to Sandy X
