GENEAOLGY
Hiya gilfillians and its variations, the correct spelling is "Gilfillian." Just a joke. I'm from Jamaica and learned from my grandfather that his parents were Scottish immigrants. They settled in a small district in the parish of Clarendon. His name was Cyril Gilfillian. All of his generation are now deceased and there was no wirtten history of the family. Even today, the Gilfillians in Jamaica are usually found in this small district (village). I have no history of the family except the commercially available "history" available through novelty shops that identifies coats of arms and history of thousands of surnames. I'd be delighted to learn more about the name and to share what information I had.
