Charity Gilfillan wed Joseph Connor c 1822 and had the following children:Lydia,Jane,Rachel,Joseph,Mary(1828-1914),John G.(1831-1879), and Thomas(1837-1919) born in County Donegal "near Londonderry." They were Protestants. Mary Connor came to Boston,MA, as a child>Hingham, MA,wed Thomas Garland c1849, >Earlville, La Salle Co. IL by 1852. John came to Hingham,MA, c1850, wed Clara Kelley and also moved to Earlville, Il, farmed, had eight children, including my grandfather, Charles Connor(1864-1902). Mary and John converted to r. catholicism in Boston. Brother Thomas Connor arrived in Boston in 1852> Earlville in 1861,never married, remained prot.,possibly Presbyterian. Interestingly John and Clara Connor had no daughter named "Charity."
