Alright, then----we will approach the problem another way. one may ask the question: "Would he recognize a photo of his grandfather if he saw one?" I will send you a high quality copy ofthe LEHIGH group photo Itold you about. Horatio Young,a shipmate ofFrank Gile is most definitely in that group. I gotm out a magnifying glass and found him kneeling in the left foreground. Frank Gile is almost certainly in there somewhere, also and mostly likely up in the frontline. I will do a series ofzoom in prints of segments of the group and you send them on to him.
There is a lot of information available on the web about the battle in which the LEHIGH had its narrow escape. Allyou have to do is look a little. I found something like3-4 picsofthe crew of the LEHIGH.Will be sending them to you in the near future. HopeJoe can find Frank in there somewhere. If not, well, we tried. Willbe in touch----have a great onebut for now just ask Joe if he would recognize Frank if he saw him. Sincerely---Ron Tarburton PS----you can accessand print a portrait of LEHIGH shipmate Horatio Young and send it to Joe, if you like. Just go online and ask for Images Frame or Home of Heroes.
