Gildersleeve/s of Stutton, Suffolk, UK.
My Grandmothers family name was Gildersleeve/s and they appear to have always been associated with Suffolk. During the 19th Century they lived in the village of Stutton [several of our cousins still do!]We have a pretty comprehensive family tree going back to Robert Gildersleeves, born around 1789, possibly in Capel St Mary. I am particularly interested to trace descendents of Robert and more specifically descendants of my Great Grandfather Francis Stanton Gildersleeves' siblings. They were;William Brewer G' b.1840. Joseph G'b. 1841. Thomas Francis G' b.1843. Elizabeth G' b.1845. Robert G'b.1847 Sarah Stanton G' b.1849. John G' b.1851 Alfred G' b.1853 and Mary Anne b.G'1857 All the above were born in Stutton but they mostly moved on to London, other than Francis Stanton Gildersleeves I have no info about what became of any of them.I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has any info.
