Hi!
I have a marriage record of Spencer Demumbrie marrying and Effee Jane Gilchrist on December 27, 1871 in Tunica MS. She is on the 1870 census in the household with Spencer, his daughter (Clara), his deceased wife's mother (McMillen) and a woman named Ellen Johnson (who I have no clue who she is). The census says that Effee (listed as Jane on the 1870 census) is from Tennessee. The marriage bond was between Spencer and JN Neblett. I don't know how Neblett is related, if at all, to Effee. I also cannot find Effee on a census before or after 1870. Does anyone know more about this?
