William E. and William F. Gilbert
My brick wall turned into a brick room this weekend.I've been working on the ancestry for my husbands' William E. (Edward?)Gilbert, b. Jan. 1, 1822, d. Jan. 1, 1876.I think he was born in Jones County, Georgia, and he died on a wagon train in Missouri. He married Frances Garrard Barron on October 7, 1846.Both the Garrards' and the Barrons' are well researched, but no one has any information on Frances' husband, our William E. Gilbert.
Now.My familys' research took me to a William K. Gilbert who supposedly married into my Coker family is some such way.I found a Leonidas F. Gilbert who married my Rosanna Coker.William is thought to be the father of Leonidas. I haven't found any proof whatsoever that he is the father or how he fits into (either) family, if at all.
My brick room all stems from the fact that both of these William Gilberts' came from Washington County, Alabama, finally. I truly would appreciate any information that anyone may have for me regarding these two gentlemen.
Thanks,
