on the 1900 Leon County TX census, there is this family:
Marion W Gilbert, age 43, born Mar 1857, AR SC AL; his wife Mariah M, 44, born Mar 1856, MS MS MS; a son Floyd 16 born Oct 1883 TX; son Seth 14, born Oct 1885.
Marion W might be the son of Thomas W & Mary Whitesides Gilbert. If so he was born in Bradley Co AR and he would be Marion William Gilbert.
on the 1910 census, he is head of household, widowed, and his sister, Louisa is there. I have not found his sons.
