If this is the one from CT, he is son of Thomas b 1642 Engl, d 20 Apr 1725 ( & Hannah Blake), son of Thomas b 1612 Somerset Co., Engl, d 19 Mar 1675/6 Taunton, MA (& his step-sister Jane/Joan Combe), son of John Gilbert Gent, ( & his 1st of 3 wives, Alice Hopkins); son of Giles Gilbert, etc.
John Gilbert, Gent who was one of the settlers of Taunton, MA, was my ancestor by his third and last wife Winifred Rossiter Combe Gilbert.
