Scott: My Gilbert line was in early Jamestown, Surry/Sussex Co. VA area. Do you have any info on this line who married into the Wright & Cooper families, also early immigrants (early 1600s)? I found an old document at the Lib of VA that indicated that one Johanna Cooper Gilbert was awarded land/manor house in recognition of Raleigh Gilbert's "service to the crown." The Document was from the King of England. Thanks for any help you may provide. These are my direct lines & I would love to find where in England they came from.
