Dear Kathi~

I read your message of 2002 on and am interested in learning what time frame your George Giggey lived. I descend from George Wiggen Giggey born Oct 1833 in St. Johns, New Brunswick. He married Julia Ann Smith in Dec. 1852 in Kane County, Illinois where the most of his children were born as well. I have been told that he was from a loyalist family and lived between New Brunswick and Maine. I have also been told that his father was John Giggey, but I have no documentation of that, so I'm being open minded for any other options.

One thing that interests me is that George and Julia's second daughter was named Lydia. If patronymics applies, perhaps it could mean something. When and where did your George die?
If you have a death certificate, it may well be more recent than my g-g-grandfather. He died 30 Sept 1896 in Boulder, Colorado.

I would love to hear from you.
