Johnson Gifford was, in all likelihood, the son of Simeon Gifford (b. 1750 Dartmouth, MA), son of Job Gifford, son of Simeon Gifford, son of Robert Gifford, son of William Gifford. Johnson appears in the 1810 census in Berne, Albany County, NY. This is where Simeon moved to, after being in Dutchess County for a period, and after moving from Dartmouth.

I am curious how you know that Johnson and Mary were the parents of Paul and Catherine. Is it from family information?
